This page covers taleor.net and its sandbox at app.taleor.net ("the Service").
What this site stores
taleor.net sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser: no cookies, no local storage, nothing at all. It loads nothing from third parties: its fonts, scripts and images all come from taleor.net. There is no advertising, no tracking and no analytics.
Our server keeps technical data (your IP address, browser type and time of access) in its logs, for security reasons and to keep the site running. Web server logs are kept for 14 days, with your full IP address, and then deleted. Our servers are currently in Mumbai, India.
The legal basis for the server logs and for Oli's question counter (below) is our legitimate interest in running the site securely and reliably and in protecting it from abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The legal basis for processing what you enter in a form is handling your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Ask Oli
- Oli on taleor.net. To protect Oli from abuse, our server counts how many questions come from each IP address per day. It does not keep the address itself, only a scrambled form of it (a hash made with a secret key, which cannot be turned back into the address), in memory only and for at most 24 hours. The scrambled address is never written to disk and never shared, and nothing is stored in your browser. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in protecting the service from abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Deutsch: Zum Schutz vor Missbrauch zählt Oli die täglichen Fragen anhand einer unkenntlich gemachten Form Ihrer IP-Adresse, nur im Arbeitsspeicher und höchstens 24 Stunden lang. In Ihrem Browser wird nichts gespeichert.
Nederlands: Ter bescherming tegen misbruik telt Oli de dagelijkse vragen aan de hand van een onherkenbaar gemaakte vorm van uw IP-adres, alleen in het werkgeheugen en hooguit 24 uur. In uw browser wordt niets opgeslagen.

Forms
When you send the consultation form or the partner form, we receive what you entered and use it only to reply to you. We keep enquiries as part of our business correspondence for as long as the business relationship needs them, and as long as commercial and tax law requires us to keep business records. A hidden form field and a limit on messages per IP address keep automated messages out.
The sandbox (app.taleor.net)
- Sign-in details. When you choose "Continue with Google", Google tells us your name, email address and profile picture, and a stable Google identifier. We never see your Google password. We ask for no other Google data for sign-in (no mail, contacts or calendar).
- Google Drive, if you connect it. If you connect Google Drive, taleor reads only the files you pick, to show them on your screens. Your files stay in your Google Drive; we store their names and a cached copy for playback, and you can disconnect at any time. taleor's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- What you create in the Service. Venues, screens, devices, reels, schedules, settings and any media you upload, as well as notes and settings you give to the in-app setup assistant.
- Technical data. Your IP address, browser type, and time of access, kept in server logs for security reasons and to keep the Service running. Web server logs are kept for 14 days, with your full IP address. The console's audit log keeps IP addresses for 730 days (2 years). Session cookies keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Setup assistant data. If you use the setup assistant ("Oli"), the text of your questions and the relevant venue details are sent to a third-party language-model service so it can answer. We record how much of the assistant you used, so we can keep within usage limits.
We use this information to create your account and your venues and sign you in; to run, secure, back up and improve the Service and fix problems; to answer your questions and support requests; and to keep the Service within limits and prevent misuse. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for advertising.
It is shared only with the providers we need to run the Service, who may process it for us and only for that purpose: Google, for the sign-in and, through Google Workspace (Google Drive), for storing our backup copies; hosting and backup providers, who store the Service and its backups on our behalf; and a language-model service provider, only for the setup assistant, and only when you use it. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the Service and its users. It is stored on servers operated by our hosting and backup providers.
The sandbox is a trial service. We keep your account and venues while you use it. Media you delete in taleor is removed from the backup copy in Google Drive after 30 days. Manual backups on the server are removed after 30 days. We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, separate credentials for each system and regular backups. No service is perfectly secure, so please use a strong Google sign-in with two-step verification. The Service is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
The legal basis for processing in the sandbox is performing the agreement under which you use it (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and, for security, logs and preventing misuse, our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Your rights
You have the right of access to the information we hold about you, and the right to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You can also have your account closed at any time. To do so, write to hello@taleor.net. You can also remove the Service's access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/connections. We reply within one month.
Right to object. Where we process data on the basis of a legitimate interest, you can object to that processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the member state where you usually live.
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the Service.
